IMO it's either something in your Dizzy failing (( when it starts to get hot( I've had something very similar to your symptoms)) or it's a vac pipe....

But i have 99% on your Dizzy.....

When this was happening to me what i would do was be driving along at 30mph in third gear, keeping the car in gear, turn the ignition of so the wheels are now turning the engine then turn the ignition back on again and the car would drive perfectly fine....

Only problem with that mine is a auto so dont think that wud work , plus not going to get much done today its pissing down here . I really need a garage :(

Your right that wouldn't work....

Any body got a dizzy he can borrow... ? I did have two spare but both had something different wrong with them ,, you've seen my storage so I don't even know where they are now... lol You used to be able to get a recon from some website for something like 60 quid... I cant remember what the site was called

Yeah your storage is like a needle in a haystack :lol: i text bludge an see if he took his dizzy off but i get the feeling i forgot to tell him about that before he scrapped it . Only went out once today an it was pissing down an it did it as soon as it warmed up . Only option is too put foot down or take foot of pedal an down again but u can never tell how long it will last sometimes 2 mins other times ages

Just text bludge hes got his old one but he took it off as his car was playing up so not sure if its any good so merc i mite take u up on that . Now for a stupid question , wen i was a kid many year ago :lol: i used to advance engine a bit twisting dizzy round an wen engine sounded right i tightened it back up so is this the same on lude an is it a good idea ?

pretty much the same on a lude but only will advance/retard about 15 degrees max
