:jacked: :jacked: :jacked: :jacked: :jacked: :jacked:

Ok guys. No point to start another threat so I'm jacking this one :D :D :D

My PC (quite new) start being noisy. I opened case, did clean it inside but I found it's building heat up, so CPU can't be cooled down. It's automaticaly rising fan speed which makes a lot of noise. Actualy I'm using my PC with open case which helps a lot. So because there is few spaces for extra fans I'm looking for 2x60mm and 1x80mm fans. 60's will be sucking air out of the case and will be mounted on the back and 80's will push air into the case and will be on front. I need something not really high performance, just to do nice wind inside but something which I can't hear. It will be nice if I can get them from egay and from UK so I don't have to wait for weeks and weeks.

Any recommendations, please

Make sure there isn't any dust on the CPU heatsink

If you have pets or smoke it clogs the airflow much quicker

Also running your case with the side off won't actually help, as now there isn't a forced path for the air to take.

I'm running open case because there isn't any more then cpu and power supply fans in it. When I open it today it was very hot inside. So it's helping to reduce inside temp and then cooler air going around cpu heatsink. I wanna install 3 fans as there is dedicated room for them. One 80mm on front and 2x60mm on the back wall. This will help to reduce internal temp, but fans must be quiet.

I've cleaned cpu heatsink, but it was quite alright and didn't require this. The issue isn't dust. Well not as much as lack of case ventilation

Also, check the flow rates on the fans.
Ideally you want more on the exhaust than on intake.

This wont be an issue. Two 60mm and power supply fan dofo will have bigger flow than one 80mm

2x60 isnt much bigger than 1x80 (if you think of squaring the number).

its all about airflow, normally taking the side off wont help, as you'll get hot air getting sucked back into the fan intakes...

What case/set up have you got?

Attacking it with a hoover, re routing cables (espcially IDE ones), moving heat generating items (hds/gfx cards) to different slots can help with the airflow.

Also worth checking your heatsink compound if not renewed recently, it can go hard if youve removed the heatsink, and wont work the same when you plonk it back on if you havent applied some fresh stuff.

This could mean that most of your heat from the CPU isnt being disapated to the heatsink (and thus into the designed airflow), but being absorbed by the mobo, hence heat in the wrong place and hot case temps...
