speedo not working

Hello I have just changed my gear box and drive shafts and the car drives like a dream but my speedo is not working, I have changed the vss over from my old box but still the speedo is not working. Any idears???

Tried belting the dashboard with the flat of your hand?(It does it once a week for me and that encourages it to work) pre digital speedo btw.

Well the fact that it doesn't work since you have done the box tells you three things, the sensor broke in the swap process, the plug/wiring is broke or it hasent engaged its teeth with the gearbox drive. Remove the sensor and check the gear and make sure it turns. Check the wiring and block connector. Swap with a known good unit!! That's all i can really suggest without looking at it myself pal. :D

If the VSS is dodgy would it not throw a CEL?

^ Yes, and as a result you'd have no VTEC. If it's just the dials sounds like an issue between ECU and dials.

^ Yeah, he hasn't got Vtec. Best bet is what thebusofwoe has suggested I'd say. Wiring or VSS teeth not engaged properly. And he's tried two VSS's - both of which were known to be working.

And they didn't work??? Carefully check the pins in the connector. If there good then its multi meter and resistance check time :lol: :lol: ;) 8-)
