I think it's also worth shopping around for insurance.. I had quotes ranging from £340 to £2600 on the same car.

Its just plain silly isn't it?! I will continue to get a few more quotes this evening and see what I can find.

IMO if I'm paying JDM premium, I want a type s :twisted:

When I swapped from my vti to my SiR my premium stayed the same :?

Have you tried sky insurance, Chris knotts, flux etc. You get forum discounts with some of them ;)

Luck maybe? Or maybe that's a good way of doing it! Get a quote for a UK car, then when I call up say, sorry it's Jap, does that affect anything? ;)

I'll look into those insurers too. All I've used is a few comparison sites so far and Admiral multicar, direct line. Will look at the more Jap specialist guys.
