Injectors etc

Post by Rob_Cool1 » Tue Jan 21, 2014 10:41 pm

Hey guys, now all the main issues have been sorted (for now at least) i can now start looking into doing some modifications to the car :P
After i sort the rad fan out and a new battery, I'm planning on getting the car remaped, timed properly and ideally some bigger injectors. I dont know what size the standard injectors are but im hoping to get the lude to around the 180hp mark so after doing the calculations which ive seen on a couple of topics on here, i need to get 350cc or 360cc injectors. 360cc injectors are rated for up to 197BHP so not sure if something a bit bigger will make a bit more power or would that just be wasting fuel lol?
Would i need a stronger fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator as well? If so would it have to be a universal one and il have to create new fittings etc as i can't seem to find any for the engine :/

These are the injectors I'm looking at, there non branded though so would that be a risk?

I think il need to get a new fuel pump as i believe its standard still so not sure what one il need to get that'll fit?

Cheers in advance :)

I would also be interested in the same info for a 5th 2.0 since it would be the first mod after all the usual :)

Can you not use 4G injectors? Should be easy to come by and they're 345cc IIRC? If you're going to get it mapped aren't you going to need to be on OBD1 anyway?

180 seems a bit optimistic to me if I'm honest, what's that engine stock? Even the B20A7 was only 150, and without FI didn't get much beyond.

@Fons[DutchGuy] - I believe a H23 inlet manifold can help you here. I might be wrong, but have a rummage for information regarding that swap.

I don't think you need bigger injectors.

oh yeah, it has that really old type ECU with flash diagnostics  like reading morse code! how would i get around that so i can get it mapped?
I believe it's 137 standard, but the heads had quite a bit of work, the throttle bodies been bored out. This what you mean by the inlet manifold: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-H22-Pre ... 3f2f703e37

would that be pretty much a straight forward swap? I only thought about injectors next as i dont really know what i can do to gain more power. I cant seem to find any cams and everything else seems to be quite limited :/

Unless your maxing out the duty cycle on the standard injectors, then I don't think it will give you anything extra.

For cams google Cat Cams, I think they're in Holland but they had more aggressive cams for the B20A1/2 iirc ;)

Dont forget Robs got the 2nd gen off benny and hes had some serious work dont to it. Head skimmed etc etc.

IMO it will be worth getting it dyno'd 1st to see what your working with since Benny rekoned it was hitting 190bhp.
