don't worry that's bullshit. E10 and regular 95 octane are the same. in France, "SP95" contains between 5 and 8% alcohol. and no car has ever been damaged running on this "SP95" !
E85 though needs bigger injectors because of the different stoechio AFR. and some more advance since the alcohol is less flamable (though the combustion is faster, it needs a more powerfull and early spark).
jjmartin, 650£ is very few. i paid mine 2500€ and it was a very good deal with 250 000km (2000£ / 155 000 miles)
alcohol is highly water-repelent and thus creates the moisture thing you're telling, but worse, on old engines it destroys oil filters when you have too much blow-by ( = too much space between the cylinders and pistons, basically).
aaaaaaaaaanyway, E85 is a very good solution when the injection and spark are tunable.
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

heavy right foot is the problem. the cars fine. if the power/cc/mpg is annoying you that much you're in the wrong car.
Shell fuel is less watered down, as donald says. It has a higher calorific value per liter. why would you by a lower quality fuel if you want 99ron? All you're doing is conning yourself.
