Injector voltage and lag

Post by RattyMcClelland » Tue Jan 28, 2014 3:10 pm

Guy I'm trying to stabilize my air to fuel ratios.
My injectors are the rc440s

Going by this website
http://injector-rehab.com/shop/lag.html

My oem injectors size is 290cc and 0.84msec lag at 12v.
My 13ohm rc440s are 440cc and 0.90msec lag at 12v.

These are what I entered on my e manage ultimate.

But is the voltage correct. I assume it's what voltage the ecu sees.

Anyone know?

I just posted in your...let's call it 'stress thread'. Not sure 100% sure on the voltage, but I guess it should be measurable?

One thing I noticed in that link is that they list some higher impendence RC440's with 16 Ohm which equals 0.42msec at 12v - quite a difference to 0.90msec. Worth throwing that into the Greddy and see if it improves?

However, I have just noticed that the specs on RC Injectors site states they are 12.5 Ohms, and only one type for 440cc Honda fitment! See:

http://www.rceng.com/Saturated-Injector ... P37C6.aspx

And please, for the love of god, tell me that's the same part number as yours!
It also notes a voltage range of 8-15v, nominally 13.5v. So maybe 12v is incorrect. When an engine is running, there can be a supply over 13V due to the charging system. See the tests Hondata did to show burnout when not using a resistor pack on peak and hold injectors, they used 13.1V as a feed to the ECU, just unsure what it throws to the injectors:

A few options to alter the settings to there.

Hope that helps bud.

Ill try that.

I measured the resistance on the injectors coils and its 12.2-12.5ohm so i definately have the 13ohm versions.
I will adjust the lag times and see whats what. Since the car works i can change the settings in one go.

Only issue is i HAVE to use windows XP to adjust the greddy settings.

Below is a picture of that issue.

Now that is class!

Does there software not run on Windows 7 then? Assuming you have a laptop at all? :?
Hondata does! :P :poke:

Fingers crossed any of that helps (or just winds you up even more!).

The software works on windows 7 but it cannot communicate with the greddy. Only windows xp or a emulated xp will recognise the greddy usb.
I couldn't get emulated xp to work on my laptop so my uni desktop pc it is.

 Nice carPC install.

Can't you dual boot your laptop with an XP partition?

Yep but I have both hd with films and content. It's just easier to pop the desktop pc in the car once in a blue moon.

Nice!

I have a question for you about the tuning on the emanage as I'll be in a similar position too;

What are you doing about managing the AFR's when on part throttle? Having done some reading on the emanage, you can trick the ecu into thinking it's in open loop beyond a certain throttle position so it stops fighting the EMU, but when you're in closed loop the AFR's are gonna be all over the shop as it's trying to correct what the emanage is doing. So the injector scaling will be out the window plus there will be some boost going into the cylinders with no additional fuel.

So, motorway cruising would be the big concern I guess...

Not trying to throw a spanner in the works, but we don't want any engine boom boom after all the work you've done to get it going
