At least I know that I wont have to deal with rusted on bolts, they were only tightened a few months ago. Vanzep is going to give me a hand. The worst part is the car is due in Aberdeen on sat to get its cage fitted

Modified cars eh

That may be why CC aren't happy with the stuff h-tune have been selling (might be new old stock that they've changed the design on now due to problems with the original design and shouldn't still be out there maybe?)? I dunno, that's also hypothesising so don't take it as read!

Skimming thorugh that they do say that some parts were changed/redesigned :(

Wurly I'll do a thorough inspection while I am in there. I still have the clutch plate alignment tool and all the bits to put it back together again. I feel that the clutch plate itself is good. I could put all the power through it, no slipping or juddering, it just didn't want to change gear.

Also thanks now I am paranoid about a spring coming loose   TBH I dont think it is as the noise goes completely when the pedal is fully depressed. I dont think I would be able to press the pedal to the floor if a spring had come loose as the spring would most likely be sitting in between the clutch plate and flywheel, or clutch plate and pressure plate.

I had a clutch plate spring pop out on me in my 5th gen last year.

I got my bearing from Honda today and it is a Nachi bearing 8-)

I also had 3rd Gen Steve (who is a mechanic) round last night and also sent the vid off to Rich at PAW to have a gander at, both agree that the release bearing is the primary candidate for the noise.

Thread revival.

When driving along at cruising speeds or booting it I'm getting this rotational squeeking noise. Not nearly as nosey as yours Merlin but annoying. If I tap the clutch pedal it goes away. At idle when it sometimes does it I have pin pointed it coming from the transmission.

When we did the atts delete and put the stage 2 clutch in we used the competition clutch release bearing. Something I forgot to mention not to use before it was too late as I had a new Honda one from the stage 4 clutch.

Dam.

Clutch works as it should but this dam noise. Might just leave it until I decided to rebuild the engine for more boost.
