Hi, been looking for a chip for my 95 2.2 vtec. its a track project. Its a uk with induction kit , race manifold and straight through exhuast pipe and a lightweight fly wheel. Can you suggest the best chip for this please? and also the costings?
Many thanks.
I also have a 93 JDM import ecu if that is compatible or better to chip. Please advise as i am not sure?!
1st track day is on the 1st of Feb and would like a bit of kit like this!
Kind regards. Tristan.
Many thanks.

If the end of the ecu number ends in G00 then it can use one of robs chips. If it ends in G01 then it's a no go. Still got to check mine as I also would like one.

Thanks for chiming in, that's spot on info.
As far as I'm aware you can use the JDM P13 but you'll get an ECU code as it will look for the knock sensor, of which the UKDM engine H22A2 didn't have one. I think @Merlin has tried and used one like this? However I would advise that it wouldn't be the best answer for your engine because it will be mapped for a slightly higher compression engine (the H22A), so it will overfuel slightly.

Hey Tristan,
Unfortunately I don't have a chip for UKDM ECU's ending with G01 like you have. So no quick fix for you I'm afraid. There are many other tuning options but they are alot more money than £20 sorry. Some more detail on tuning is in my build thread:
http://www.ludegeneration.co.uk/post1911.html#p1911
It might go a bit over your head in places, don't be afraid to ask any Q's.
In the meantime, the car shouldn't feel that 'gutless' before VTEC, so it might be worth looking at some basic maintenance items first to get the engine back up to full health first. Have a search on here or just ask away.
You mention you have a JDM ECU. You could use this with my Spoon chip but it would throw a Check Engine Light (CEL) code for the knock sensor as the UKDM engines didn't come with a knock sensor. You could add the sensor to the engine, although its a pain to get to. Plus this ECU and map would be for the slightly higher compression JDM H22A engines compared to the UKDM H22A2 engines. It would definitely make power but would run rich and drink more petrol. Its up to you.
Cheers,
Rob
