adrian flux any good? admiral have given good price but....

Post by lewd lude lover » Mon Mar 26, 2012 5:59 pm

hey guys, so its been a while since i needed insurance for the lude

i called adrian flux (a specialist?) and they want 560£ for FC with mods declared.

then i did a confused and admiral came out with 417£ for the same....

so what gives? im going to need to insure the volvo in may as well so i may just go with admiral for the multi.

but what are each like?
who uses who for their well priced car insurance? im with sky but they want 700£ over so can swing  they have been very good over two claims so i will give them a chance to price match but thats a lot of money...

im 34 with 3yrs ncb so not an 'at risk' group.

any ideas would be appreciated.
6th gen Prelude please Mr Honda. RWD 2.4 turbo lude.

Flux are Brokers, ultimately in the event of a claim it depends on which Insurer they have placed you with.

I've been looking at quotes the last few days since my renewal is next month, Admiral gave me the best quote by far. Sky was the next cheapest but still £400 more.

Adding my dad as a named driver knocked 300 quid off with Admiral

I found a new insurer today. I Googled modified car insurance and loads of different websites came up. The quotes ranged from £789 to nearly £2000.

I am 28 with 7 years no claims. I looked for protected no claims with all mods declared.

Adrian Flux - £960
Sky - £892
Bridle Insurance (Brokers) - £789

I was gonna go with Bridle, but the deal they got me was with a company called Equity Red Star. Only problem was that the policy was limited to 10'000 miles per year, if I went over that, the insurance would be invalidated. I told them that I would have to go somewhere else as I have done about 150 miles shy of 10'000 so far with only 3 days left on my existing policy. They called Equity Red Star, but they would not go over the 10'000 mile mark because of the "nature of the policy" :?: After telling them I would have to go elsewhere, they got back in touch with Bridle and they managed to do the whole "well, I can't believe it, I managed to sell a limb and they will cover you for an additional £45".

So I am now covered fully comp for £835 a year with protected no claims and all mods declared with an excess of £250. The name of the insurer escapes me now, but will post the name when the documents come in the mail.

I'm well happy as Sainsbury's quoted me £950 with a £500 excess and no mods in their renewal quote.

I would recommend trying Trinity Red Star if you are not planning on doing over 10'000 miles.

Right...essay over :zip:
