Near Breaking point. Car being an absolute arse again.

Post by RattyMcClelland » Sat Mar 08, 2014 7:03 pm

So i taxed the car this month with the intention of driving the car a few miles to fill her up and test the longevity of the car to see if will make the journey to Coventry to get the supercharged tunned.

On Friday i moved the car off my drive to spray some parts. The car started immeadiately and i drove it down the road and parked it up. Previously it did struggle to start and it wouldnt turn over.

Anyway at the end of the day when i had tidyed up and came to park the car back on the drive.

IT WONT START.....WHATAPENIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes it starts and then dies immeadately. Sometimes it will slow idle for 30secs but slowely die.
Any hint of touching the thottle kills the engine. I tried unplugging the IACV and same situtation. I hold the supercharger bypass valve open and sometimes it seems better.
I took the plugs out and they are jet black. Put new ones in......nothing.

At 1st i though it was the battery but no.

I had to get the neighborhood to help push the car back on the drive.

Its been so unreliable about starting or not.
I dont know what else to do.

Suppose that's the next thing. Would that cause the car to die when running?

That sounds like classic main relay issues. Mine did exactly the same.

Ignitor? I know it's new, but they can be fragile little buggers in all but the right circumstances, your previous issues could have damaged the new one?
Just a thought.

May not be the same problem but you never know.

Mine cut out at around 80 on the motorway.

Was an easy fix though.
