You should be fine nut I doubt you will see massive benefits compared to 205/45 and 215/45.

it was the size for the sp2 it has (my car) got 205 45 s on and it looks too small

Yer it does look small. But you will run the 225 fine.
Carrisma runs that tyre on his montego lude too.
