Poor Clicky the 3rd Gen failed...

Post by RattyMcClelland » Tue Mar 27, 2012 2:13 pm

....Bless "clicky"
I resprayed the back bumper, sorted the rusty archs. Cleaned all VSS and changed the lights and prepped her for her MOT.
Sod law failed here on other stuff.

- Both Front upper ball joints excessive wear
- N/S front wiper insufficient cleaning power.
- One of the CV gaitors torn

Also an AA man told the previous owner the master clutch cylinder is leaking but i could see it but there was a clutch issue. Turns out its the slave cylinder leaking which looks body lemonade easy to change. This didnt fail on that though. SO will sort that myself.

Labour rates at this garage are £58 per hour so will see what they charge for both joints and gaitor.

THEN I CAN SELL IT.

No probs 8-)

On the gaiter, Indigolemon was telling me about the stretchy boots you can get to save separating the hub. Would that do the job for you? To save on labour costs?

These: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-PRELUDE ... 500wt_1363

They won't last anywhere near as long as a decent oem spec replacement - but can get you out of a jam for much cheapness and minimum effort! Saying that, this one has a 3 year warranty ...
