H23 inlet manifold visual differences

Post by BONNARSKI » Sun Apr 06, 2014 10:29 pm

Just got a 94' F20A4 engined Prelude last night and i am wanting to know how to visually tell the standrad F20 inlet apart from the H23 inlet?

My reason for asking is that the car has had some mod's already on it and seems much faster than i was expecting from a non VTEC lump, i already have a 91' CRX B16A1 which also came with mods and turned out it had a full PR3-4 EK9 Type R head with a chipped ECU but looked near standard at first.

So is there any way by looking that i can be sure the inlet hasn't already been changed?

Thanks in advance

H23 intake is very similar to H22, three piece manifold: bottom where is bolted to the head, middle spacer wit IAB, and top cover. F20 is one or two piece ( can not remember exactly) but definetelly no middle spaer. F20 has big silver sticker on top cover with PGMFI sign
ludes are ment to be driven, not wanking around on a stand like a Civic.

Look at the EGR circuit onthe runner.

On 5th gen ones there is plugs, and welds for the 4th gen ones. 4th gen ones is lower too, and the plenum is more curvy.

Just checked and the inlet is only two piece with PGMFI on the top so going by that i'd say it's the standard F20 inlet.

Good to know, means theres improvements to be made when i get board lol.

Anybody have a cheap H23 inlet for sale? lol
