I may be wrong but i would say you would be best to change any auto tensioner when you change the cambelt - problem being the cost of the OEM only part - which may be why these parts get reused rather than replaced. You would expect any maindealer to have the bracket/holder thing but any other garage probably wont have that. In which case the owner should supply it imo.

Yea completely. I also think they should be replaced. But its understandable why they get re used. They are fecking expensive
