You'd like to think so, yes. Sadly though since having mine painted there are already two or three places on it where you can see that someone has got too close and rubbed against it with their front number plate :( assholes

Booked in for exhaust!

Post by newkid » Tue Apr 15, 2014 6:44 pm

Spoke to the guy that did the exhaust on my old 4th gen that had the Hytech rep fitted. Cars now booked in for Wednesday next week to have the tanabe catback from the now deceased wings west lude fitted. He's going to do any altercations needed to make the exhaust sit correctly. Been lucky on this one I reckon as he has done plenty of work for me before so all he is charging is between £30-£50 for the removal fitting and altercations. :D

I've been looking at mine a lot lately and thinking the same thing. I honestly reckon a 5th with pop ups to exactly fit where the current lights are would be the perfect 'lude. In idle moments in fact I've found myself wondering if maybe it was originally conceived that way and legislation meant a change in track at some point (Unlikely I know, but just look at one - it'd really fit in well with the aesthetics). Mine is as stock as they get and in beautiful nick but if anyone can figure how to do this I think I'd just have to do it.

Edit: Good stuff on the exhaust! :D

Newkid, can you get before and after pictures of the 4G exhaust and the new altered 5G exhaust. And what alterations were needed etc so in the future if a nice 4G Exhaust comes up for sale and a 5G owner wants to buy it then he can know what's needed ;) or vice varsa for 4G owner..
