Hi guys. Again just repeating what others have said.
Had a wicked time
Thanks to everyone for being welcoming yet again as this was a first for me at japfest and a first for me on the track. Absolutely loved it tbh. Nice meeting those I hadn't already met
.
Shame about the damage to peoples cars, but weather was crap
Had an awesome time all day.
Thanks chaps
Yes there is a lot of talking from my mate Dave but I did tell him to as this was all a first for me and he had tracked this course many times before. Towards the end I was getting used to the way the car felt and then it ended
Thanks guys

Nice videos, car sounds great and definitely useful getting some instruction as your pace looks good as well.
A word of caution though, your friend tells you to use engine braking to slow the car as you enter one of the chicanes. He is right that you need to select the correct gear early but stay away from using engine braking at speed. That's a bad habit to get into which puts a lot of strain on the drive-train and can be very expensive on big power cars and cause you to spin a RWD car, unless you have a fancy slipper clutch fitted, which is rare outside of sportsbikes and top race cars.
Bet you're dying to get out on track again now!

I took the mustang as it was that or the trike for motors on the road. Used £100 of petrol, a tank each way! Oh, and I reset my trip counter before I left yesterday, £100 of fuel on motorway driving and the traffic got me 280 miles!!!wurlycorner wrote:Are you wanting to bankrupt him lx?

Just posted a new thread with some tracktime footage I found from onboard a quick Evo who passes several of our group, so you get to see a fair bit of action!

Also, years ago, my driving instructor pointed out that brakes pads (and discs) are much cheaper and easier to replace than clutches!SPYDOR wrote:Nice videos, car sounds great and definitely useful getting some instruction as your pace looks good as well.
