Auto to Manual Swap

I got mine through Tegiwa in the end. Was the cheapest. I have An OEM ATR clutch on the 3.3kg alloy flywheel and it works great

. Word of caution tho, the clutch will be REALLY tight going down on the pressure plate bolts. But do them up evenly and to the correct torque and it will be good to go

Driveability is spot on

Couldn't fault it in anyway

Even with motor mount inserts, pulling away is real nice. Can pull away at low rpm with out hassle and the biting point is real strong. Great combo IMO

. BUT . . . . get rid of the clutch damper. I still need to do this but if you are always quick changing it will A) slow the clutch movement down and B) burn the clutch out quicker

But its on the to do list

. I personally find that the motor will rev up like a fecking rocket if pushed hard

I have been trawling through all the US write ups for the swap. Firstly they definitely have some creative grammar and punctuation skills

Some of the threads say that you need to swap the manual transmission mount bracket, others say it isn't necessary. This also goes for the VSS.

If anyone can confirm it would be greatly appreciated.

The VSS is not interchangeable between the Autos and manuals, though you can split the units in two and mate the bottom manual half to the top auto half if you find the wiring different on the spare you have (which I did). If the cabling is the same on both cars, then just do a straight swap on the VSS.

Also ignore a lot of the wiring info on the us write-ups, some US laws require the clutch to be engaged before the car will start, so they include for a lot of this, which you do not really need.

Is it worth removing a/c and cruise control? What are the benefits besides the obvious weight loss gains?
