Also your problem looks like it's shutter related. If you've dropped it before or something it could just now be giving up. Either that or light leaks, check around the base of the camera/lens for cracks or play. I have limited experience with digital but I presume you can still get leaks in the same way. When you say nothing came out, what do you mean? All black pictures but it still went through the motions? If so I would bet the shutter is no longer attached to whatever mechanism operates it.

Car looks great by the way. Very clean.

Hi Donald, You're right with the assumption on 'going through the motions' of taking a shot but all was black after the Malaysian checkpoint. I heard the click, whirr etc but as I was in a rush didn't check how any of the shots came out, I just presumed they were 'taken' if you know what I mean.
I haven't had it a year yet so I think I'll go back to the shop, it's a Sony camera bought from a Sony shop so hopefully they'll be no hanky-panky about getting it swapped or repaired. HOPEFULLY!
(Thanks for saying she looked so clean. To be honest, with the water rationing here, it's a bugger to get a day when I've some time, and a running hosepipe to some proper TLC on the beast. In my opinion, she was bloody filthy but thank you anyway for the comment)

That tank of Shell Racing fuel cost me £24.54 to fill it to the max (true, the tank wasn't completely empty). As you can see, the price per litre is (near as dammit) £0.60.
That Shell Racing petrol ( only available on the motorways is considered bloody expensive) the normal 97 octane I use is about 55 pence per litre.
And as it's just gone up (!) the Malaysians are up in arms about how expensive petrol now costs here.
Little do they know eh?

If it's within a year then surely it has a warranty, although... is it actually Sony?

If that's filthy then you should see my Lude in it's 4th-5th week without a wash!

The prices are all comparable to the cost of living then I imagine? Although that price per litre seems quite similar to in the US. Still jealous regardless, my local station would charge ~320MYR for the same amount

Yes my friend, It's. a. Sony.

I've got a client that's cancelled today so I'm going to toddle off to the place I bought it and see what they can do. I had a fiddle with it last night (interpret that how you will!) but can't seem to get any pictures onto the screen so something is awry with it.
And yes Donald, you're spot on. Although the petrol is cheaper it is relative to the cost of living regarding national income levels . I know it looks dirt cheap for us Limeys but I think if you did a calculation of average earnings throughout Malaysia ( which I'm in no way qualified to do!) it would boil down to a cost per litre that, although not as ridiculous as the UK ,is still pretty high.

Hi all, been a bit busy of late but managed to get a few updates on t' Blue Beauty that I'd like to share. Thought it about time to deal with the horrible stereo that was installed so got myself down to a local guy ( who actually lives on our compound) so I knew I could trust him.
Started with a new Alpine player.

Then got four new Rockford speakers for the rear parcel shelf and doors as the others were faded and horrible anyway.

Also got two tweeters in the front ( no pictures) but now the audio is absolutely brilliant.

Been having problems with the antenna so decided to disconnect it altogether and get a windscreen mounted one. The crazy antenna has had a mind of its own extending up to the max ( two settings) which of course has been able to snag low flying bloody aircraft given its ludicrous length. Anyway, it's now fitted flush and is RIP (fully greased ) in it's little hole.

Here's the windscreen antenna. I rather like it actually as to be frank you can't really see it inside or out.

And here's the antenna all snug and no longer a danger in underground car parks!

While he was at it we found the headlight connectors were shot so he installed this new cable thing ( much thicker than before) so I have got rid of the intermittent headlight fault as well. He installed some kind of switches and new cables in the alarm as that had also decided to go wonky on me. Finally and at long last he did this amazing ghetto fix on the interior light which worked only on the passenger's side. Now I have an interior light on the driver's door.

That's it for now folks - my goodies I bought from Tim are on board the good ship Lollipop on the way over complete with a new bushing kit which I managed to track down in Halifax of all places. Can't wait for it to get here then I can install the new headlights, new engine mounts as well as other little bits. Then I can finally take it to the body shop and get that horrible dent sorted out.
