Don't want to lower your enthusiasm, but I would also suggest buying an at least almost rust free running Prelude.

:o wow! That is indeed a very long path you have ahead of you there. As most have said is it worth it? If it has some sentimental value or something maybe.. But for just owning a prelude? That is going to be very expensive to get it back to former glory!

If you do keep it I wish you all the luck in the world, And can't wait to watch the transformation :)
