Carbon wrap on sunroof

Post by paul bristol uk » Sat Mar 31, 2012 8:56 pm

The varnish is peeling badly from my sunroof which is in good condition otherwise. I was thinking of carbon wrap for it. Any minus points about it? I am getting the car sprayed at some point this year but the look of the sunroof is bugging me. Anyone done it and have pics they could post?

I've just carbon wrapped my CRX, a sunroof will be really easy to do. No real minus points really, once you want to take the vinyl off, you just heat it up with a heat gun and peel it off.

If the varnish is peeling, it will need to be taken off as any imperfections under the vinyl will show.

I used 3D carbon vinyl which has texture to it and isn't just printed onto a sheet. It looks really good 8-)

Here's some pics of some interior bits i wrapped:

PM me the dimensions for the sunroof and I may have an off cut that you can use and I can post it to you for free ;)

That is really kind of you Rob. I will nip out and measure it as soon as I get up in the morning. Thankyou very much! :)

I only have one pic upload on my PC at the moment which is one of the roof. I guess its pretty close to getting an idea what a sunroof will look like wrapped tho. I apologise for the blurry phone pic

I will probably do a build thread for the CRX once its finished and I can be arsed to dig out my cable to plug my camera into the PC

A very big thankyou to rob!! It came yesterday morning and looks just the ticket. Unfortunatley the rain came shortly after so things are on hold!

Thanks again Rob! :D
