Bumper etc refitting
Bumper etc refitting
Would some kind soul like to send me a pic taken above the front bumper, bonnet up, showing the brackets, screws etc that hold bumper/nostrils etc together?
I'm reassembling my car after a spray and I've lost the photo I took, and I have little or no memory.
Also, what is there that holds the bumper up against the front of the wing, at the corner of the headlamp? Mine is dropping away from the wing there and I can't see what's supposed to hold them close together.
Many thanks!
Andy

there should be some plastic plugs into the metal bumper support under the headlight then there is a clip screwed into the chassis at the side the bumper clips into, then the screw at the back edge of the bumper nearest the wheel well

23 and 36 sit in the wings to align the bumper.

Yeah actually how are you suppose to take it off with the clips under the headlight intact? I could not get to them at all, because the headlight is directly above them lol and you need the bumper off to get the headlights out!
So I broke mine lol. And front and back never seem to go back correctly there's always a big gap :/

Vtecmec wrote:You don't, the bumper comes off complete with the bumper bar, 2 bolts sit behind the headlights and 4 in the front which are accessed with the indicators out. The rear is the same, many make the mistake of taking the bumpers off with the plastic clips, which turns out to be a more difficult affair.

Thanks, it does help. Although 23 seems to be just a spacer, and 36 is a bit soft to support the bumper at that point, so where the bumper meets the wing at the front there is too much of a gap. I think a new self-tapping screw there might be needed!Vtecmec wrote:Does this help?

Unless I'm missing something...

If you loosen the 4 bolts behind the indicators (2 each side) and the 2 12mm nuts in the engine bay at the headlights (1 each side) that hold the bumper bar in place you can lift the bumper up as they have some adjustment in them.alinton wrote:Thanks, it does help.
