Opinions please

Post by Turbomick1985 » Tue Jun 17, 2014 10:00 pm

Im leaving london at the end of august as im sick of the place and the speed of it, im going home to ireland for awhile to see family and then im heading out to brazil for 6 months maybe more
Heres my dilemma do i keep my car and leave it in ireland in a shed or do i sell it incase i dont come back for a year or more
If i do decide to sell what would it be worth?
Its a V Reg, In black, 2.0, Manual, the chassis has 153K the engine is 74K but i cant comfirm this with any paper
Drilled and dimpled Discs, new calipers, new 35mm lowered springs, heated seats, heated electric mirrors, resonator removed (still have it though), wrapped induction pipe, front strut, stainless steel back box (similar to OEM but a bit louder)
I have a rear lower and upper strut to put on it when i get service and timing belt done

heres the thread of it and what bits ive done encase iv missed anything

any ideas on what it might be worth much appreciated, i know its diffcult to gauge because there rare cars, but im just curious and to be honest i might just leave it in ireland

guaranteed the car is worth more to you than what you will get for it if you sell it ;)
i dont know much about 5th gens but id guess somewhere between £500 - £750

Yeah that's the figure I thought also but entirely agree that it's worth more to you an enthusiast than a joe blog off the street. Look for a nice dry shed and see if someone can tick it over every now and then. ;)

yea sounds like the way to go il take it over to ireland but ther wont be too much space in my grandfathers shed with his two old/classic mercs in ther, he has a big 40ft container but i think the prelude might be to wide il see when i get over there, the lude is too low for him to get in and out of, my cousin is a mechanic and he will no doubt drive it about every so often although hes a toyota man

Good shout. You won't regret it when you make back mate. Providing your cousin doesn't write it off
