No mate can't locate the blue wire, my car has been played about with quite a bit by previous owners they might have cut it off, but going to take it to dr japs (a honda vtec specialist and tuner in Stockport) and they may be able to sort it out. First things first take it back to the guy who did the clutch

It's not a blue wire, it's a plastic blue connector with two wires going into it.

...although I bet you were trying to engage VTEC when the engine wasn't hot enough ;)

From what I have skim read it sounds like it is a just a VTEC engagement issue and nothing more sinister. To get into VTEC the engine needs to be up to temp, have enough oil pressure and to be going over 18mph. The loss of any one of those things = no VTEC.

Check your oil level to see if there is enough in there. If it is right on the bottom there might be just enough to give an intermittent problem.
