@bb1boy thats the hobby i'm afraid mate. I have had this car for about 7 years and it has been in bits or forgotten about due to breakage for 90% of its life. When its running right, and before you wrap it round a tree stump or something, they are great fun. Imagine what owning nirto planes is like![]()

tere is enough room for good frizbee action.
as it is a pull start, and i have modified the body shell mounting legs to fit my incorrect prelude body, i cant pull on the pull start enough to get it started.
so if i strip all of the support legs for the body off of the chassis i can get to the pull cord ok. but when the car is running on a nice steady idle, the wheels turning slightly as its on block, so i put all the body supports back on and affix the body, press the throttle and it instantly dies. so its a ball ache to keep stripping it. now, all was fine up untill i had to replace all the servos and reciever as it just packed up one day. so new controller, recievers and servos all new wiring. everything is bob on.i can get the car running on idle, tweek the trim knobs on the top of the controller to speed up the idle and that works but as soon as i hit the throttle it dies.
i can get tick over and wot, but nothing inbetween it seams. the engine is quite old, i paid £25 for the set-up. may be loss of compression.
i have how ever removed the engind and spun start it using a power drill and it starts instantly, i can rev it freely too but as soo as i connect it to the servo it all goes belly up.

Roto starts are great but some use plastic gears which don't last long, I'm using the fastrax one and found the plastic hex to one way bearing doesn't last very long, so I made a metal one and it's been a bloody good bit of kit.
I spent months trying to set up a old engine and lost the battle. Bought a brand new one cheap on eBay and had it running perfectly within a day. 2nd hand engines seem to be a night mate and it's usually from when the adj needle is screwed in to far and damaging the seals, seems like you'll never get it right after.
Wish I was goin, rc cars have been my hobby since I can remember.
