Video from camera to laptop question.
Gents, I shot a video of my car in the garage t'other day and on the playback of the camera it all looks and sounds great.
However, when I've taken it off the camera and put it on my laptop the playback is horrible. It 'breaks' up and keeps stopping, then starting, then 'breaking up' again.
(When I say breaking up it's like its kind of pixillating itself - does that make sense?)
Anyway, the thing is that no matter how many times I try to play it back it's all wonky and not a smooth playback.
My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5536 and the stickers on it say this "ATI Radeon graphics AMD Athlon X2 64."
Have I done something wrong in the transfer process or could someone with a bit of tech knowledge help me out please?
BTW the playback programme on my laptop is VLC if that's any help.
If anyone can provide me a bit of assistance I'd be really grateful, thanks, Simon.

Download VLC player and try running it thru that sounds like u might need codecs or something, VLC player will play anything and usually without problems of codecs
Edit
Just saw that you already hav VLC, try doing the video again and put a new one onto your laptop see if it makes a difference could be corrupted the first time

Assuming it's proper 1080p video, it's possible your laptop does not have the cahones to play it I'm afraid. The Athlon X2 is a bit long in the tooth these days (2005 vintage).

Hello matey and nice to hear from you. Up early mate and in t'office for a nine o'clock rah-rah with a group that I'm battering into shape regarding their presentation skills *cough*.
Apologies for not being in contact but I really have been running round like the proverbial and what with friends and rellys now ensconced at simonc towers, even sitting down to catch up with folks is tricky.
Hope all is well your end and you're enjoying the sub-tropical 'phew-wot-a-scorcher' temperatures affecting those fair shores.
(Or so I read in the Mail On-line!)
More anon mate. Have a great day, Si
