Guys,
ive had a look. but a friend of mine is abroad and has access to free wifi.
They want to make a call via whatsapp to another whatsapp user in uk.
if phone abroad is put in airplane mode, they connect via wifi.. will the call be free?
Looking for people who have tried this before or are in the know.
They did have a message pop up that said about mobile carrier charges may be applied.
ill post up a screenshot.
i cant see why it wouldnt be free if using wifi fo the call but i know whatsapp connects via your tel number and not email.
cheers beforehand

Yeah, as Newkid says, think whatsapp is just for texting.
1 - They want to disable mobile data, rather than go into airplane mode - as that will stop wifi also.
2 - Are both people on Android/iPhone? If so, I'd use a video call in Google Hangouts. Goes over data (which would be the wifi in this case with mobile data switched off).
