Mapping

This is probably the last post for a while as this is my lude build pretty much up to date now but first I have my dyne print out to share.

I decided to go with a hondata S300 to keep my engine in check and turned to Paul West of TDI North for the mapping. Here is my print out.

Did you ask him to exaggerate the VTEC crossover or is that just the way he normally tunes VTEC engines? You're always better with a smooth VTEC delivery although I appreciate a lot of people enjoy that kick in the pants feeling, especially for passengers!

I didn't ask for anything specific, to be honest I think he usually does the k-series engines and although he is highly regarded within the honda community he may not have been the best choice to map my H22.

That is some good numbers. Do you have a full spec list (still making power in the high 7K's)? It is an H22a8 yeah?

Well some nice power gains anyway and looks like your revving to 8000rpm now, which is always good! :D

Yeah H22A8, I'll have to have a think about the full spec list as it's been a while but I'll have a go.

Having a quick flick through your thread I can see where you got your power from:

H22a8 + SK2 IM + exhaust + proper tuning = 226bhp 8-)

The only thing that I find strange is that the graph shows you to me making power in the high 7K rpm's. Stock H22's usually run out of puff around 7.2K rpm. Maybe you have unleashed the H22a8?

Could possibly be the exhaust mani, I've been told that it's a fairly good piece of kit and is particularly suited to high rpm top end gains.
