Think i may just put a new engine in afterall..

Post by Peachy » Tue Aug 19, 2014 9:42 pm

So as some of you on here know my Ukdm bb2 H23a2 engine on my 4th gen is dead and burried.

Now i have had a rethink and am really thinking about putting a new engine in the lude.

Is it possible to put in an h22 vtec engine in a h23a2 lude? Also if i did this does it matter that i have an automatic, or do extra things need to be done as a result??

Also does it matter if its jdm opposed to ukdm. Whats the benfits of putting in a jdm engine other than the fact that you can spoon chip the ecu.
Can you spoon chip a ukdm h22 vtec engine?

So what i am wanting to know really is there more mods you can do on jdm opposed to ukdm?

I relise if i go for a h22 vtec engine opposed to another h23a2 engine i will have to change the main computer ecu, is there anything i need to change and what?

Looking for a good condition engine but as cheep as possible! I have around £300 to play with (not much i know  )
Also how much does it cost for a garage to fit an engine as i would not have a clue. :?
And last but not least can i run my h23a2 KV85 ht leads on a h22??? They said they were made for my 2.3!

Anyhelp here guys would be great, but i must stress i can only do the engine conversion if the labour is cheep-HELP!

Cheers Will

yes its possible, No it doesn't make any difference being auto. The jdm engine has higher compression but finding a jdm auto ecu might be a little tricky they are out there.
you can do any mods to a Jdm you can do to a UK engine
