De restricting prelude type s

The type s I've been rebuilding had the Speed convertor on the sensor by the gearbox but this ment 1st gear missed a lot of vtec and being such long geared made traffic light gp's very difficult.

If I put the speed convertor but the speedo it will fix the vtec and be mph but limited to 112mph I guess?

Obviously you can't just chip the ecu, I don't think an apaxi avfc can control this either?

Any suggestions welcome as I'm now stuck!
