Re: Marts lude - Track prep

Another day a Curborough coming up

So I thought I'd try and loose a bit of weight and tidy up a few things.
The rear interior was removed for the welding so I removed the stereo and gearstick surround and replaced it as my old one was cracked.
Image

So while I was at it I removed the stereo and rewired the front speakers direct back to the head unit instead of via the amp.

Image

Then I removed all the crap that went with the amp now it was no longer connected up.

Image

Instead of re-fitting the Pre-facelift centre console (sexblocker) I decided to fit my crossover console (less weight ;) )

Image

Then I re-fitted my OMP seat and Takata Harness.

Curborough Sprint Course Track Day 02/09/14
Conditions hot & dry.

Back out for my 2nd time at curborough.
Wasn't as hot as last time, got a few more runs in too.
Tyres took a battering, don't think they'll manage another day.

Cheers guys! it's a great little figue 8 track
Alot of people were really suprised on how quick it was in the corners and asking what coilovers / setup I had and if I had LSD etc. When I told them it was 15yr old stock shocks on lowering springs I don't think they quite believed me

No Merlin! this particular day I go on with these guys is extremely relaxed, no helmet, no noise restrictions. You just have to sign a form to basically say you're there at your own risk

No matter what Lude I drive on track I always find it good round the corners it just up the boring bits it needs a bit more oomph. I would have thought helmets would be a prerequisite for their insurance :?
