Hi guys well yesterday my balance shaft seal decided to pop out dumping all oil contents on the road I did not drive it after this happened so what I need to know is where can I get a seal retainer to stop this happening again once ive fitted a new seal or would my prelude have one fitted and its just the seal has maybe pershished I really dont have a clue when it comes to this kind of thing

You can get them direct from Honda and aren't that expensive, but as it's a cambelt off job to replace the balance shaft seal, you may as well replace all belts while you're at it.

Honda sell them if I remember right they are about £1.75 I could be wrong though its happened before :lol:

Yeah I was gonna replace belts anyway as the oil would have ruined them even though they were replaced last year, will I get the retainer from honda aswell?

Thats fine then will be phoning honda nxt week for prices, I just hope the engine doesn't seize as it will be sitting for a while without oil

No it won't the engine components will still have a covering of oil, it's just you'll have none left in the sump!
