Recommend me a socket set

Post by ATR84 » Mon Jan 05, 2015 9:33 pm

I am needing to expand my basic set of tools for use both in the house and on the lude if needed (hopefully not :D ). I could do with a decent socket set. I won't be re-building engines or doing any complicated jobs so don't need a mechanic's tool kit, just something decent. Any recommendations?

Halfords (pro range) do good sets for the money; or machine mart, who have a decent selection too.

Not sure about cost, as long as it is less and £100 it should be fine. I will take a look at the halfords stuff if you think it is half decent.

I bought BnQ Torq stuff, pretty cheap, not broken any of it yet. 1/2" set is about £35 and you can pretty much dismantle any car with it if you add a breaker bar.

Any Honda anyway, damn Germans make life difficult

Wifey got me a Clarke Pro set from machine mart, it has a lifetime warranty and is very nicely made, even the box is nice. It was about £50.
