Check for leaks around the VTEC solenoid and check your oil level is topped up. Start there anyways mate

Is your check engine light illuminated? Sounds like limp mode, does your VTEC definitely engage?

Defo engages mate. It only seems to hit the 6500 limit in 3rd oil levels are good. No leaks from vtec solenoid. It won't do it for about 10mins after it's heated up and if I turn car off for say 10 mins it works fine but then it'll happen again after 10mins driving???

Paper clip test to get the ECU fault codes (if any) and report back.

Maybe no harm to take off the solenoid and clean your screen gasket. After that, see what fault codes it throws up.

Yes, I'd be checking the spool valve gasket too.
