Unable to open windows after crash.

Post by EvilDmen » Wed Feb 18, 2015 10:32 pm

Is there and electrical ignition cut off switch?

I need to open the windows to remove my wind deflectors.
The ring around the ignition switch lights up but nothing else.

Is there a way to reset the cutoff?

Cheers.

Lee.

All you need to do is turn the ignition key to position 2 and windows should work. If they not then there are some electric wires cut or other problem. They wont work without turning the key and there isnt any other cut off mechanism as far as I know. Another think may be flat or close to that battery

Turning the key has no effect, the ignition doesn't turn on.

I'll have to look in the drivers wing as that's where it took the impact.
The battery is fully charged.

Is there a way of manually rolling the windows down?

Cheers again.

if you can't get any power to the windows and the fuse hasn't blown, take off the door cards and unscrew the glass from the mechanism

I'd rather unplug motor and power it from spare battery. Just be careful when doing driver window as there is 4 wires going to mech and you have to pick correct ones. IIRC two are thiner and this are not what you looking for ;)
