Can't feel vtec
Can't feel vtec
I'm not too sure about this, as I haven't been in a prelude for years, but I can't seem to feel vtec 'kick' in. Is there any way to diagnose those or any garages in London that people would recommend taking it to?

This may sound silly, but have you checked that the engine is running at optimal temperature? I've read that vtec won't kick in if it's running cold

Re: Can't feel vtec
Somebody correct me, but if VTEC is not engaging doesn't the car only rev to around 6500?
Or is that cobblers?

Lol ok thanks guys it revs all the way to redline so I guess it's working then. I've got aem v2 air intake, stainless manifold. Tanabe straight through exhaust. And I can't really notice a change in engine note like I did on my old prelude but that was a long time ago so maybe I am remembering incorrectly. So if it revs past 5500 rpm easily then vtec is working?
