cutting out.....
cutting out.....
hey peeps,my 5th gen has a spoon ecu on,i havent checked yet to see if its a stand alone or piggy backed with the original so i may be best to check before asking but i like to do things backwards.....ecu is under passenger footwell isnt it????right if i hit a bump left hand side very occasionally the car will cut off and the green key will flash on dash,a simple turn off the ignition key sorts it back out but im wondering if a plug is loose ecu maybeor its an immobiliser issue????i know it has the spoon ecu and harness adapter on,is it worth takin off and trying it???many thanks

I'm sure its under the passenger footwell somewhere, it does sound like a loose connector from what you've said.

I had a similar issue last week with the del sol, the passenger side window sometimes wouldn't go down. I took the door card off and the connector wasn't connected all the way in.

The 3 most common reasons for cutting out on the Ludes are:
Main Relay.
Ignition switch failure (about £60 new from Honda).
Immobiliser.
Mine was doing something similar and it was the immobiliser antenna round the ignition barrel.
If you do want to check the immobiliser the manual (http://www.ludegeneration.co.uk/wiki/in ... Literature) has a full set of tests you can run assuming you ECU isn't the fault

I can't quite remember what exactly what it was but wasn't there a recall on something to do with the ignition barrel?Bio wrote:The 3 most common reasons for cutting out on the Ludes are:

Yeah, I THINK they were meant to bash the VIN plate on the slam panel with a centre punch above the 8th character or something to denote that it was done. Can't remember now though exactly and I can't locate a copy of it on the Wiki.Gorgon wrote: I can't quite remember what exactly what it was but wasn't there a recall on something to do with the ignition barrel?
They also changed the bolts on the ignition barrel assembly to shear head bolts which I found out when I had to replace my immobiliser antenna. Can't take the bugger off without drilling so I ended up using a flexible screwdriver to get at the little sod.
http://www.justanswer.com/uploads/yoda4 ... relude.JPG details the recall itself but I cannot for the life of me locate the service sheet that details the work itself.
