Oil leaks

Post by Bludge » Sat Mar 14, 2015 11:41 am

Had my car up on ramps today and had a look around to see if i could work out where the oil leaks are coming from.

Looks like the oil cooler seal could be leaking, but can recommend anywhere else it looks like it might be leaking from?

It certainly looks like the cam cap is leaking, i found this guide.

http://www.preludepower.com/forums/show ... p?t=329414

It all looks good (if not a lot more effort then i was hoping for!) but i dont have a torque wrench that does the low torques needed for the cam holder plate and i cant really afford one. could i get away with just guessing it or is it best to wait till i can afford a low torque wrench?

*EDIT* And also where can i find the actual cam seal? anyone got any links?

Replace it with an aftermarket version as they seem to perform better.

Just an example, you might find cheaper/better..........

I have one of these and it has been good for every bolt on the car, from the ones you need to do to the cylinder head bolts.
