With a young child and a mortgage to pay the car is not top priority, and let's face it the reason most of us are driving Preludes is because we wanted performance motoring, but on a budget.
Im still making this decision. I do love my prelude but do i just leave it as is and let her slowly die or do i go balls to the wall and just throw money at it and hope i dont resent it 9 months down the road XD

Yep because you won't get your money back if you do sell it. If you can be sure you are going to keep the car for the next 5+ years I would say it is worth it, if not then probably not.

I like the lude so much that when the time comes I will seriously consider throwing money at it.

The problem i have is I often throw money at cars and then get immediatley bored, my record is owning a car for about 9 months (although to be fair it did jobby itself on the drag strip)

However I really am smitten with the prelude. I can see me regretting it badly if i sold it or let it rot. Rot is not the way I want it to go.

And I thought throwing £1300 at a gearbox was an easy decision.

I've got the rear arch repair panels sitting in my garage waiting to be welded in... Not had any quotes yet but with a bit of luck the old girl will be back on the road and free from rot soon. When I get the work done I'll let you know what I paid

I got a quote yesterday, £220 to cut out rust on both wheel arches and corners of skirt, filled with fiber glass and primed

That is actually dirt cheap, I'm getting the whole car done ATM but I was quoted 750 to cut and weld in new metal and spray for both rear arches.

A glass fiber repair will not last though, new metal will.

Plus you said primed. Not painted and lacquered?
