Re: FI help- supercharger
Im so undecided lol
The ability to flick to SC on and off is a massive plus for my fuel consumption but seems very awkward and complicated for 260 bhp?

True lolBrozilla wrote:Yes, stock engine. But injectors aren't considered as part of the engine but as injection component. Fuel pump, injectors and ECU all have to be altered for forced induction, no exception.
Words before were 255 walbro pump and obd1 ecu with hondata and some other stuff...
Makes sense tho, more air = more fuel

I am very familiar with that field, so you can ask anything you want
.
No need for hondata if you dont intend to run serious boost, ectune is great one-timer for lower boost options.
Hondata, let's say s300 is a better option if you want to tweak something constantly since you can make changes on the fly, opposed to crome, netpune and ectune where you burn your map to an eprom and you are stuck with it if you don't want to burn another rom. Hondata s100 has virtually no more options than three alternatives I mentioned before, but has expanded fuel tables which are needed for higher boost.

Yes you need an obd2a to obd1 jumper harness, which can be bought on ebay for something like 12 GBP (not recommeded, i have seen some ECUs fried because wires on those kind of harnesses touched when going over a bump or cornering hard.
Your other option is hand-made harness from a fried obd2a ecu and obd1 cabin connectors which have superior quality. Much more expensive, about 50-60 GBP but for a reason, that person, or yourself has around 50 wires to connect between plugs. Cost is much lower if you are doing it by yourself.
p28 is the most common chippable ECU, nucleustylzlude has differences between ECUs explained pretty spot on in his Lude's topic. I prefer p30 because it has a knock sensor which is present in Lude engines and can be a difference between life and death of a boosted engine. You just don't let it adjust your map when knock is noticed, but rather throw a cell and put it in limp mode.
