It is mostly me and Wurly debating  Well, me not reading his posts properly

To summarise, the reason why you cannot properly set base timing is that the B series has its timing marks on the crank pulley where as the H22 has it on the flywheel. You need to research how ignition timing is set properly on H2B builds. I haven't really researched it but you may need to access your B series flywheel, mark TDC and then mark 15 +/- 2 degrees in advance of that mark. Then you will be able to set base timing.

Ok so mechanic called back and doesn't think it's the dizzy on reflection and further reading he thinks the ecu is being screwed or is screwed I do have a recording of the conversation that would be much easier than typing so going to see if there is a way I can get it on here lol

OK so a small update from this weekend, after running through some online threads and the wiring schematics it appeared we had 2 of the injector plugs crossed over if you stand at the front of the engine the far right plug be it 1 or 4 was crossed with the one to the left of it.

i also removed and started to strip the dizzy however i had left me meters at my friends garage :x so all i could do we basic tests with a volt light on the terminals. this did indicate the correct parts had power which i know anyway as it ticks over fine.

so i rebuilt it and took the car up and down the street no bearing in mind this is the loudest fking car you have ever heard this process is quite embarrassing to say the least! anyway it did not bang and pop!? i took a guess with the dizzy position and used some marks that have been scratched into the dizzy and block by the previous owner i am assuming. so the misfire or at least the bangs looked to have gone (think i need a longer run to be sure) so i am wondering if one of the plugs incorrectly placed would have caused the misfire?

i checked the stupidly hard to get to knock sensor (partly our fault as the conversion kit covers access :x ) this is plugged in and looks to be the correct connector as its covered in gunk from years of use in such a location.

i have emailed probe distributors regarding a rebuild kit and i will be getting my meters back tonight and hopefully performing the tests in the manual.

not sure what else to test after this???

well saying that i have a list
check dizzy with tests from the manual
Earths
listen to injectors to see if they are functioning correctly (got this how to from a forum using a screwdriver :? )
get a new or rebuild kit for the dizzy
check TPS

if all checks out i am lost! it may mean we skipped a tooth may be or the ECU is kaput?

any ideas of help let me know guys, i am slowly reading all acceleration/hesitation threads across the world for tips.

yeah injectors firing at the wrong time will cause a misfire and or loss of power

We should have a debate about all these debates.
