They're already set to about 30mm and rusted in place so they're not going to get adjusted. They have top hats on too so by the sounds of it that's going to make things easier :)

I wanted to change the top hats to the 5 stud ones so I can put my type s strut brace on, but by the sounds of the extra time involved if I get someone to do it for me it would probably work out cheaper to buy a different brace instead...

So with top hats on it should only take a couple hours to do?

if you have the 5 stud top hats it'l probably only add 15 mins per corner if all comes apart well,

yeah it only takes a few hours start to finish!

having said that mine took me about 6 hours because my tools failed on me

Thats not so bad, don't I need a spring compressor to get the top hats off to change them tho?

5 stud tophats???????????

The rears are 2 stud and the fronts are 3 stud plus 2 strut bar studs on Type S.
Fronts for me were alot harder and the bottom folt bolt had to be sheered off on the Type S and replaced with new the correct way round as they are wrong from factory on all ludes..

You may have done this already but you dont need spring compressors to take the top mounts off a set of Tein basics. Also its essential to get a wheel alignment done (but you know this already) even the smallest changes in height will throw off your heel/toe. Whilst you may not notice anything during mundane driving, your on the limit handling may be effected if you dont get an alignment done ;)
