Sorry to be a bit Meldrew about it but it's just corporate onanism isn't it? Created to make Honda feel good about themselves with a distinct lack of a clear and understandable message for its customers and/or prospects.
Obviously done to satisfy the shareholders.
Nul points I'm afraid.
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

New Honda ad
Pretty much.
Honda pretty much rely on sales of two two things, the civic, and the CRV.
Niether of which really feature in that advert.
(I know the new CTR was in there, but meh)

We mustn't forget that there are two interpretations for the actions of poor old Onan as described in Genesis.
Did he have a quick one off the wrist just before visiting his brother's wife, and thus render himself unable to perform?
Or did he pull out early so that she couldn't conceive?
If the former, the current general usage of 'onanism' can easily be said to apply to much of corporate advertising and mutual backscratching.
If the latter, messing up an act of creation is clearly analogous to getting product development wrong.
Either way, Honda's guilty.

From a medical journal, I only found it looking up what an onanism was considered to be because of what Sailor said - I'd seen Onan in Genesis (@Sailor - 38:9).simonc wrote:Nice quote Donald. Is it yours?
Not often one sees such intelligent prose in and around this err, topic.
6 through to 10 is pretty standard Bible stuff. God punishing people for being sensible about family planning.
Judah got a wife for Er, his firstborn, and her name was Tamar. But Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death. Then Judah said to Onan, “Sleep with your brother’s wife and fulfill your duty to her as a brother-in-law to raise up offspring for your brother.” But Onan knew that the child would not be his; so whenever he slept with his brother’s wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from providing offspring for his brother. What he did was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so the Lord put him to death also.

I say this with all sincerity; the various religious texts out there are a pretty good read. Lots of plot twists, new characters, drama
Ezekiel is of course a good one, although chapter 41 would've been much easier to present as a drawing. 23 a personal favourite because I just cannot imagine it being delivered to an audience
