Fuel pumps

Post by njord » Sun Sep 13, 2015 4:07 pm

This isn't lude related but I have a small issue

I am building a westfield atm but not seeming to get enough fuel pressure.

I have mounted fuel pump as low as possible but the fuel exit is on top of tank

Was hoping it would gravity feel the pump but dont seem to get enough flow.

I was thinking of plumbing a lift pump before the high pressure pump to suck the fuel out of the tank.

Do you reckon that this will be ok.

Its only going to run 160bhp

surely as long as the pump is getting fuel it should provide enough pressure? is the pump working correctly?

can you move the feed to the bottom of the tank and use the top as the return?

Unfortunately both the fuel return and exit are on the top of the tank

it gets to 45 psii then just stops n cannot push any more.

might try wiring straight to the battery and trying again

45 psi should be enough.
Is the pump not too small?

Where is the pressure measured?

It is measured at the end of the fuel rail
