5th gen 2.2 intake problem *NEED HELP ASAP*

Post by benthebratt » Mon Dec 07, 2015 2:59 pm

Hi everyone, was fiddling around in the engine bay this morning when I noticed a big crack in the intake between the filter box and intake manifold , bit worried as dirty air has been getting into there and felt a lack of power in the car for a while, I need that pipe could anyone point me in the direction for a replacement or even a better replacement? Also as dirty air has been getting into the intake manifold/engine what should I do to clean it up any ideas as bit stumped at the moment , cheers

For the H22A8/TypeS intake? I don't think you can get the part anymore. It seems everyone with this intake has this split.

Are the cold air intakes better as on other cars I've been told it's best to keep original ?

you could just fit a 4th Gen airbox as they are cheap and plentiful :)
minimal loss in power - id doubt youd even notice ;)
just spray some carb cleaner into the intake manifold to clean it up

A split in the intake hose won't reduce power.
