Hey mate,welcome on in.
From Dublin myself.
Lucky for you if it is just the dimmer turned down
,reminds me of my dads 2004 Corolla when the lights went on during the day the dash was near totally unreadable, particularly the speedo which is the one thing you don't want out but anyway we drove it between us for near a month and couldn't figure out if it was broken or the dimmer which was no where to be seen, turns out it was a needle near the speedo instrument panel which had to be held in for quite a few seconds, google through up a similar owners fret and it was the first one i picked,2 minutes later bingo.
The fun is learning gradually with your car even if it is a simple as a switch to be found haha, good luck and yes pics

Re: Hi everyone
Hello again, We didn't get our project started as quickly as I thought with work etc... but we finally got her off to be resprayed.
I took some photos before she left and I will try to get them up tonight , assuming I can actually figure out how to add them to a post.
I didn't solve the problem with the dim gauges but I did manage to pick up a replacement unit which i haven't tested yet.
I also found a company in texas who appear to repair these units so I'm going to drop them an email to see if I can send the old one over.
I'll get the photos up as soon as I can.

http://postimage.org/ is what i use for image hosting, simples.
What color did you go for?
Texas what
Just get a swappy in there, you can take the whole dash out in 15 mins, and 2 in 25 mins
Nothing like getting held back on project cars, but it does give you more time to acquire more nice parts too
