surge when changing gear auto box

had it almost a year thinking the box was going to die but after almost a year still starts drives well apart from the surge even had a mot pass with no advisories only 50000 miles not bad for a 1995 2 ltr auto so whats wrong please is it worth converting to man

clean out your solenoids change the gearbox oil start there
