Weight is my enemy around the track :-) And for track days, I'll take out as much as I can

This is for off track.

Hehehe. Been going crazy buying more stuff for the Prelude.
  • Tyres
    JDM Mats
    Rear Subframe (hopefully)
    Half mast Aerial
    EBC Yellowstuff pads
    Uprated brake lines
    Silicone radiator hoses
Probably more, but hard to keep track.

I'm also thinking of taking out the back seats, cleaning up underneath and then maybe coating it with a bit of some black rubber-like spray (can't remember what it's called, but it's sort of like you line the back of pickups in). I'll then get some carpetting, and cut it to shape to fit where the back seats used to be, stick some sound proofing foam to the botom of the carpetting, and then stick the carpetting down with heavy duty velcro strips.

Also considering dipping the entire car, as opposed to respraying it in a different colour (matt black comes to mind), as I can simply peel it off if I ever want to go back to original colour, AND I don't need to inform DVLA or insurance company of a colour change. If I do, then I'll probably dip the wheels as well.

I installed my dual dashcams today, and hooked them up to my Philips double DIN headunit, so that I can view them on the headunit, as well as the small screen of the dashcams' DVR unit

Dashcam unit, with it's plethora of wires tucked away, is sat in a mounting clip that is velcro'ed to the trim on side of the passenger footwell.

The Dual camera system is the Koonlung K1S, which records 2 camera feeds onto a single SD Card.

Both cameras being displayed on head unit (controls on DVR unit allow me to switch to individual camera view)-

These cameras will be great on track days, as the camera feeds are time synced, so I will be able to easily make a Pictue in Picture video for playback, similar to the following I made in my Civic -

Yay my tyres arrive tomorrow. Today I received the JDM half mast aerial, as well as the JDM mats. I also received my Goodbridge brake hoses yesterday. On Friday, I'm going to fetch a rear bumper, bumper clips and bumper bar from preludemanh22 :-)

I've decided to get my 'new' wheels powder coated in a dark Anthracite, similar to what I had done to the Type-R wheels on my Civic. once that's done, I'll get the Yokohama tyres put on them, and get the wheels onto my car. This means I will have a full set of stock 15' Prelude 4G wheels with some pretty new Avon tyres on them to sell. The wheels have been painted by previous owner, and the lacquer is peeling off some of them (cheap 1k lacquer sucks), but they're in pretty good condition.

This weekend I'll probably take out the rear seats and see where I want to proceed with the rear seat area (carpetting or just some rubber spray)

Met up with @preludemanh22 to get some parts from him. Great to meet people from the forums in person :D

He also pointed me in the direction of an ebay auction for a full sunroof setup for a 5G, as I mentioned I was considering a moonroof conversion. Just gone ahead and bought it, and will collect it on Sunday :D (anything for an excuse to take the Prelude on the road :-)

I'll be following the guide from @vtecmec on doing the conversion - great guide !!

I couldn't resist making a little bit of noise in the tunnel on the way to Cardiff today - (sorry for bad sound)

Likewise

I'm going to raise her a bit, as she's scrapping on the smallest of speed bumps, and I don't like her that low. Just gotta wait until I can get into the barn we're renting (still not empty from previous tenant) so we can work on her out of the crappy weather. Wanter to do yesterday at a mate's place, but weather is just not playing nicely, so we gonna wait till we can get in the barn.

Got the 5G sunroof you pointed out to me today. It looks in mint condition - can't believe it was only £45 for the entire assembly, including motor. Nice find :-)

Took the old girl to the farm where the barn is, as I can at least work outside there, and that's where we're dumping all our stuff until the barn is available.

Gave her a clean first

Took out the rear seats, as they're pretty useless, and glad to see it's in such good condition under there. Also started removing trim in preparation for 5G sunroof install (this weekend hopefully).

I'm probably going to cover the rear seat and back rest with some carpetting (on velcro strips) to make it look tidy.

I also decided to go with the S2000 aerial instead of the half mast one . I think it looks better than the stock aerial.
