Lude garaged for 3.5years. Cant see any fluid in the rad.

Post by lewd lude lover » Sat Apr 09, 2016 12:35 pm

So I got the lude out of its hibernation this morning. Looked it over and all seems ok but the rad looks and feels pretty empty. Now I am imagining that some of the water has evaporated out of the system while its been sat for so long but is this a fair surmisation?

I am going back tomorrow to give it a clean and put some fluid in there and hope it only needs half a liter but whats the worst case senario that anyone can imagine?

Cheers.

worst case is it eaten your head gasket and gone into the block :?
dont think this will have happened but coolant does turn acidic if left for a long time - maybe its evaporated or had a small leak from the rad which has emptied over time.
I guess you will be checking for leaks when you refill it.
Ludes all use green coolant from the factory but red is the common way to go now which is fine as long as the system is flushed first. :)

Cheers. It ran fine and dandy from the garage to the drive. I just opened it up to see what was what afterwards and saw no fluids. we shall see.

ATTS drank it.

Can't evaporate as it's a sealed system. Hopefully just a minor and easily fixable leak.

It was probably just low in the first place.
Fill it with some coolant and start out and see. You will know if there is a leak quickly.
