Re: Merlin's 4G Time Attack Lude - He's dead Jim!
I got to bask in his sexiness on Saturday. He was kind enough to fire up the BBQ despite the hail and snow we periodically experiencedRattyMcClelland wrote:That Farlow. He's a fracking sexy bastad.

Thankfully it was no bother to whip the engine out of his car.

I think tonight I will get a start on prepping the engine with a view to fitting it this Saturday.

Re: Merlin's 4G Time Attack Lude - He's dead Jim!
Went to Honda today thinking they had a new wheel stud for me (for my 5th gen) but nope, instead they had the gearbox selector retaining bolt that I ordered ~5 weeks ago but didn't tell me that it had arrived from Japan
Good timing though as the gearbox will be out this weekend.

The new engine will have to be in and working my the end of the weekend as the only time I can get it on the dyno is Monday lunchtime
It is a lot of effort but I have all the parts and we know what we are doing, just a pain in the hoop having to do it all in 1-2 days.
New engine needs:
Cleaned
4th gen windage tray and baffled sump swapped over
Brand new timing belt and h23 manual tensioner swapped over
All ancillaries swapped over inc VTEC solenoid and ignition system
FITV & EGR deleted intake manifold (inc 62mm tb) swapped over
Brand new oil cooler o-ring swapped over
Valve clearances
Modded thermostat housing swapped over
Gearbox swapped over
A load of cheap oil needs ran though it
